Preferences

You can use these settings to control how Visual Patch builds a project. To view and change any build options, use the Build Settings dialog (Publish > Settings...).

General

Build with Publish Wizard

If selected, Visual Patch will use the Publish Wizard when building. If not selected, it will build using the settings specified in Build Settings.

Open output folder after build

Make Visual Patch open the output folder by default after a build has completed.

Confirm before building (non-Wizard mode only)

If selected, Visual Patch will confirm the build process before continuing. If unselected, it will build the project as soon as build is selected.

Note: This setting has no effect when the Publish Wizard is used.

Show low memory warnings

Make Visual Patch show low memory warnings when building the patch. These warnings are determined based on the largest file that will be differenced during the build process. There are two cases when a warning may be shown:

Verbose log output (include individual file items)

If selected, individual files are listed in the build output.

Tip: Turning verbose logging off can prevent "Out of memory" errors in projects with large amounts of files.

Exclude fonts from build:

The font face names that will not be included in the build if you choose to override the default fonts in a theme or on a page.  By default this field includes Arial, Courier New, and Times New Roman.  This saves you from the space taken up by say Arial when all you did was change the font size.

Log Files

None

Do not save the build log file each time a build is performed.

Save in output folder

Save the build log file to the patch output folder as defined on the Build Settings dialog.

Save in other folder:

Save the build log file in a custom folder. You can click the Browse button to select a folder on your system.
